Batman extra dies on set, An unidentified male extra died on the set of the new Batman movie. Director Christopher Nolan was shooting near a famous New York landmark when the man collapsed. Tragedy struck the set of Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises in New York when an extra died during a break from filming.
The unnamed man was involved in a shoot near Wall Street last month when he suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to hospital but later pronounced dead.
A spokesman for Warner Bros. tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "The studio can confirm that a male extra passed away while on a break during an off-set crowd rehearsal for a sequence with several hundred extras... Production fully co-operated with the authorities' investigation, which established that he died of natural causes."
The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader, is due for release next year.
